Zakspeed will expand to a two-car program in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, having confirmed a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars for the Pro-Am class.
The German squad, which entered the Monza and Nürburgring Endurance Cup rounds last year, is set for its first full-season campaign, with four of its six drivers already confirmed.
Kriton Lendoudis, Rui Aguas and José Balbiani will pilot one of the cars, with 22-year-old Immanuel Vinke confirmed as the first driver in the second Mercedes-AMG GT3.
The remainder of the lineup for the second car will be announced following next week’s official pre-season test at Paul Ricard.
In addition to its two-race Endurance Cup program, the team took part in the ADAC GT Masters and VLN rounds last year, in what team principal Peter Zakowski has labeled as ramping up of its GT racing activities.
“For us, the Endurance Cup is an ideal platform for the GT3 customer sport,” Zakowski said.
“Naturally one should not underestimate the competition. Nevertheless, our stated goal is to be a contender for the podium in the PRO/AM ranking.”
