Nathanael Berthon is set for his LMP2 race debut in this weekend’s European Le Mans Series round at Imola, while also planning to tackle his first 24 Hours of Le Mans, both with Murphy Prototypes.
The Irish squad confirmed this week that the GP2 front-runner will join Karun Chandhok and Rodolfo Gonzalez at the wheel of the No. 48 Oreca 03 Nissan for the French endurance classic, replacing Tor Graves, who continues his recovery from shingles.
The 24-year-old Frenchman tested with Murphy at the official ELMS test at Paul Ricard in April and was quick out of the box, according to team owner Greg Murphy.
Alex Kapadia, who was initially confirmed on Sunday for the ELMS round, will not be taking part as originally announced.
