One of the greatest weekends of sports car racing ever in the U.S. will take place March 13-16, 2019 with the doubleheader of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts and the FIA WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring. Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 17.
Tickets will be available online at sebringraceway.com or by phone at 800.626.7223.
Advance-purchase prices will be in effect through Feb. 13, after which gate prices will apply to all ticket sales. An early-bird special on the four-day Superticket will be offered until Nov. 12. Gates will open at Sebring at 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, and will remain open 24 hours a day through Saturday’s 12-hour endurance classic.
The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts will be the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019.
The once-around-the-clock classic will take the green flag at 10:40 a.m., March 16. Four different classes of competition, two each for prototypes and GT cars, will attract more than a dozen manufacturers and a stellar list of drivers to compete on the famed 3.74-mile circuit that originated from a World War II B-17 training base.
Friday’s FIA World Endurance Championship race will be round six of the “Super Season” that concludes at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. The 1000-mile (or 8 hours) race will start at 3:55 p.m. Friday, March 15.
The inaugural FIA WEC race took place at Sebring in 2012, and this event will mark its first return to the historic Central Florida-circuit since that season.
“Sebring 2019 will rank as one of the greatest sports car racing weekends ever seen in North America,” said Sebring Raceway President and General Manager Wayne Estes. “To have the FIA WEC join our traditional race weekend is truly an honor for us and a bonus for our fans.”
A wide variety of ticket options are available, including four-day, two-day (Friday/Saturday) and Saturday only. As always, children 12 and under will be admitted free. Active military and student discounts are also available with proper ID.
“Sebring will showcase the world’s two leading sports car racing series on the same weekend,” Estes added. “Incorporating a world-class organization and race such as the WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring into an existing schedule has been challenging, but now that our tickets are on sale and plans are set our fans truly will be the winners. The atmosphere and tradition that has made Sebring famous worldwide only will be enhanced by this history making weekend.”
Race fans will notice many upgrades at the famed Sebring facility when they arrive in March, most notably a new bridge into Green Park for both vehicles and pedestrians and the new pit lane from Turn 15 to the Ulmann Straight to be used for Friday’s 1000 Miles of Sebring.
Also on the Sebring 12-Hour weekend schedule are the Michelin Pilot Challenge, which will take place Friday prior to the 1000 Miles of Sebring, and Thursday’s IMSA Prototype Challenge race. Practice and qualifying will begin on Wednesday.
Sebring also will feature ample off-track activities such as the traditional driver autograph session, a display of historic race cars, entertainment at The Spring Brake Party Zone and fireworks.
