TRG is set for a full-time return to SRO Motorsports America competition, having confirmed a three-car Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport effort in Pirelli GT4 America.

The Kevin Buckler-led team will field all-new Porsches in both the Sprint and SprintX series, headlined by a championship-seeking effort with Spencer Pumpelly.

Pumpelly will pilot the No. 66 Porsche GT4 in all eight Sprint weekends, marking the Atlanta native’s first full season with the California-based outfit since 2012.

“The upcoming Pirelli season should be a fun challenge in the brand-new Porsche Cayman GT4,” said Pumpelly, who will kick off his season on the streets of St. Pete next month. “The field will be strong and the short races make for an intense on track battle every time we take the green.

“The schedule takes us to some exciting venues and, with the support of LaSalle Solutions, Adobe Road Winery, and The Racers Group, we are positioned for a great 2019.”

Five other drivers, meanwhile, will rotate between TRG’s Nos. 67 and 17 Porsche GT4s in the SprintX East and West events.

Derek DeBoer is set for a full-season SprintX effort, with Dr. Jim Rappaport joining him for the West races and Sean Gibbons in the East Coast rounds.

The No. 17 entry will be entered for Chris Bellomo and Kevin Woods for SprintX West competition only.

Both entries will be present at the season-opener at Circuit of The Americas, which serves as a season-long SprintX race, as well as rounds for East and West.

“It is fantastic to have a powerful two-car team heading into our first big event at Circuit of the Americas in Austin and to be running three cars, with six such incredibly passionate and talented drivers, for the full season,” Buckler said.

“We are gunning for two championships, one in Pro and one in Am.

“Derek and Jim are going to make a formidable duo in their first season racing together in the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West races and will be sharing the No. 17 car throughout the season with Sean Gibbons, who we are excited to have partnered with Derek again this year for the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX East races.

“They are all terrific drivers, with great relationships with each other, which makes it even more awesome!

“Having Chris Bellomo back, with professional coach and long-time TRG partner, Robert Orcutt, is another major bonus.

“Chris is a talented driver and a terrific guy with so much potential and his co-driver, Kevin Woods, is an amazing addition to the TRG team.

“Having a driver like Kevin, who is not only fast, but just incredibly solid across the board, is the perfect complement to Chris and they will make a formidable team.

“We are excited to have such a great matchup with this pair and look forward to winning some races together.”
