JMW Launches 24H Le Mans Camo Design

JMW Motorsport’s Ferrari 488 GTE will contest next month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with a special ‘camouflage’ livery.

The British squad, which won the GTE-Am class in 2017, is preparing for its tenth appearance in the French long-distance classic.

Its special Andy Blackmore-designed livery for the race includes outlines of circuits on which the JMW Ferrari competes in the European Le Mans Series, as well as nature-inspired motifs. 

The team’s ELMS drivers Wei Lu and Jeff Segal will share driving duties with Blancpain GT World Challenge America race winner Rodrigo Baptista, in the Ferrari of Vancouver-supported effort.

“JMW has a history of producing a unique livery, including our livery competition in recent years,” said team principal Jim McWhirter. “This year we wanted to do something special, to celebrate the biggest motor race in the world.

“The camouflage effect allows us to include a lot of detail, and we hope fans will enjoy looking for each of the features hidden in the design.”

JMW first entered Le Mans in 2009 with a Ferrari F430 GT2, before competing five times with a Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 that included three forays into the GTE-Pro class.

The team secured its first podium finish two years ago when Dries Vanthoor, Will Stevens and Rob Smith won the GTE-Am category in a Ferrari 488 GTE.

Segal is the only member of JMW’s 2018 lineup to return for this year’s edition, with both Lu and Baptista set to make their Le Mans debuts.
