The No. 38 JOTA Sport Oreca 07 Gibson of Anthony Davidson, Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez have been stripped of their second place class finish in the 6 Hours of Fuji due to a technical infringement found in post-race scrutineering.
Stewards determined that the car’s outside neutral switch was unable to “disconnect” from the transmission, which is a breach of Art. 11.3.2 of the LMP2 technical regulations, resulting in the exclusion of the entry.
JOTA has not appealed the ruling.
It has promoted the team’s sister No. 37 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca of Ho-Pin Tung, Gabriel Aubry and Will Stevens to second in class, with the No. 22 United Autosports Oreca inheriting a podium position.
Racing Team Nederland claimed its maiden FIA World Endurance Championship win in the class on Sunday.
