Wayne Taylor Racing has yet to finalize the full-season lineup for its planned return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with a number of factors at play, according to team owner Wayne Taylor.

The 2017 IMSA Prototype championship-winning team could feature an all-new lineup for its Konica Minolta-sponsored Cadillac DPi-V.R, with Jordan Taylor understood to be departing for Corvette Racing and Renger van der Zande’s contract up at the end of this weekend’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.

When asked about his team’s driver situation, Taylor said no contracts have been signed beyond Kamui Kobayashi, who is confirmed to return for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“We’ll be back next year. But we’re still working on drivers, ” Taylor told Sportscar365 Friday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

WTR’s seats appear to be in high demand, with multiple high-profile drivers reportedly in the mix for full-season or Michelin Endurance Cup drives.

Sportscar365 understands that Ryan Briscoe is the closest to signing, with the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing refugee, who is managed by WTR co-owner Max Angelelli, appearing set to join the team as a full-season driver for 2020.

It’s also understood Taylor has held conversations with Alex Lynn, Colin Braun and Stoffel Vandoorne, among others.

“[Stoffel] called me yesterday,” Taylor said. “I said to him that we haven’t made a decision and I’ll regroup with him next week.”

Taylor said any decisions on the team’s lineup will not be made until after this weekend’s season finale.
