Greg Pickett has sold his Muscle Milk brand to Hormel, it was announced Tuesday.

The longtime sports car racing participant and team owner has finalized the sale of parent company CytoSport for $450 million to Hormel Foods.

CytoSport, founded by Greg and Mike Pickett, produces the popular Muscle Milk sports nutrition bars, drinks and powders, among other protein products.

According to a report in USA Today, the Pickett’s will continue to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, with the deal expected to close within 30 days.

Pickett’s race team, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing, which won the 2012 and 2013 American Le Mans Series P1 championships, closed its doors in May after pulling the plug on its TUDOR United SportsCar Championship program after just two races.

It’s unclear if the recent sale could encourage Pickett to return to motorsports.
