Lamborghini Completes First Shakedown of V12 Hypercar

Lamborghini recently completed first rollout of its 830 hp track-only hypercar…

Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s new track-only hypercar completed its first engine fire-up and shakedown a few weeks ago as part of its development at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.

The unnamed hypercar, which produces around 830 hp with a 6.5-liter V12 naturally-aspirated engine, was initially announced in October during the Super Trofeo World Final at Jerez.

Most details about the car are still yet to be announced, but Lamborghini has released a teaser video following its shakedown, which took place in February before the COVID-19 pandemic put Italy into lockdown.

The car has a number of new design and technology features that differ from Lamborghini’s road car range, including a large rear wing, airscoop on the roof and a racing hood with dual air intakes.

It has an aluminum front frame and carbon fiber monocoque to maintain safety standards, along with an innovative self-locking differential to improve driveability.

Lamborghini has repeatedly cautioned that the car won’t be used in racing, but exists as a track day hypercar and a display of the manufacturer’s technology capabilities.
