United Autosports to Partner with Andretti Autosport for Extreme E

United Autosports has joined forces with Andretti Autosport for a joint effort in Extreme E.

The Zak Brown and Richard Dean-owned operation, which holds a global alliance with Andretti Autosport, including a partnership in Virgin Australia Supercars, will expand to the all-electric off-road series that’s set to kick off next year.

United joins Andretti, which announced its involvement in Extreme E in April.

“We have been looking at getting into electric racing for a while now and this new off-road championship looks fantastic, so I’m pleased we can work with Andretti to make it happen,” said Brown.

“They already have the contacts due to their Formula E entry, but we are working closely together to get up to speed as quickly as possible.

:The creation of the new company gives both teams an equal partnership moving forward in the Extreme E series. We are very much looking forward to starting this new journey for the team.”

Dean added: “We have worked with the team at Andretti for a while now and it’s great to have a hugely exciting and innovative race series added to the United program.”

No word has been given on the team’s driver lineup, which per series rules, must include both a male and female driver/co-driver.

Extreme E is understood to be one of a number of new areas of expansion for the UK-based United Autosports squad, which is also planning a return to GT racing, as revealed by Sportscar365 last year.
