Aston Martin Appoints New Distributor for Southeast Asia

Aston Martin has licensed a new exclusive distributor of Vantage GT racing cars for China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the rest of the Southeast Asia region.

Motorsport Services AMR Asia Ltd will be responsible for supplying cars and parts to customer teams based in that area, with a focus on competitions such as the Asian Le Mans Series, Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS and China GT.

The newly-formed company will be led by former X Works Racing team director Ron Reichert and ex-FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 driver Weiron Tan.

MSAA will base its operations from a facility near Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, while a secondary workshop at Zhuhai will service the Chinese market.

China GT Championship outfit Team ZWEI, which previously raced as BSEM Racing, has been named as the first partner team for Aston Martin’s Southeast Asia network.

“We’re very happy to conclude this partnership between Aston Martin Racing and MSAA to become the official representatives and distributor for Asia,” said MSAA director Tan.

“It’s been a challenging year for the motorsport industry, especially in the Asian region, because of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Nevertheless, we are certain that the timing of this announcement and the infrastructure we are putting in place will allow us to repay the faith of Aston Martin and expand the AMR GT racing footprint throughout the region, providing quality service and support to our valued customers.”

MSAA joins CSJ Motorsports and GB Motorsport as official Aston Martin Racing regional distributors.

CSJ has been supplying to the North American market since 2019, while GB Motorsports caters to Australia and New Zealand.

‘We have viewed China and the Southeast Asian region as a key strategic area of growth in motorsport for some time,” said AMR President David King.

‘Now with the continued and growing success of Vantage in the GT3 and GT4 the global GT arena, we have the perfect platform with which to do this.

“MSAA gives us the ability to provide works level servicing across Asia and assist our partners as they compete for championships with Aston Martin.”
