Dinamic Now at “Different Stage” Compared to Last Monza Win

3 Hours of Monza winner Klaus Bachler reckons Dinamic Motorsport is operating at a “different stage” compared to when it achieved its maiden Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup win at the Italian circuit two years ago.

Bachler was the only member of Dinamic’s winning lineup on Sunday to also drive for the team when it triumphed on its GT3 debut in the 2019 Endurance Cup opening round.

There were similarities between the two performances, as both involved a Dinamic capitalization on mixed weather conditions and a starting position outside the top ten.

In 2019 the team started from 22nd on the grid and rose to the front by staying on wets throughout as others switched to slicks. On Sunday, Engelhart started from 12th and made up several places in the first couple of stints when the rain started falling.

He then jumped out at the start of the second hour and handed over to Cairoli, who managed wet tires on a drying track and avoided punctures that affected several front-running cars to take the lead. Bachler then controlled a final-hour restart to seal the win.

Bachler, who is back with Dinamic after driving for ROWE Racing last year, said that he feels the team has made significant strides in the time between its Monza victories.

“They nearly won the championship and took victory at the Nürburgring, so they have shown many times that the team is really good,” he told Sportscar365.

“When we started it was a good team, but for sure it was starting from zero. They now run so many GT3 Rs in different championships, so it’s for sure at a different stage at the moment, compared to two years ago.

“They were a great team, but now it’s much more experience in everything.

“At the start, it was more learning: they won the race two years ago but in the end it was not expected that way because the weather came. But now we are one of the teams that can win races and fight for the championship.

“This was definitely not what we expected when we entered the championship. I think that we can say that we are one of the best teams out there.

“We worked really well and also had good strategy: this was already really good two years ago, but for sure everything else has improved which is also key.”

Bachler explained that Dinamic’s recruitment of mechanics and some engineering staff from GPX Racing’s former program operator and Total 24 Hours of Spa winner Monlau Competicion to run its No. 54 car this year has added strength to the team.

“In the end, it was a smart move from both parties,” he said.

“Everybody does things differently, and in the end if two great teams try to work together I think everybody can learn from each other.

“They do things better in some areas and the other team dos things better in other areas. In the end if you can combine this, it’s for sure helping.

“I think because Dinamic is growing so much and doing so many different championships, it’s important for them to have experienced guys like this coming in, because they need the manpower.

“You need to be really good to also find good people, and the team did a really good job to find an agreement with Monlau because they’re amazing guys.”
