Van Glabeke Wins Blancpain GT Sports Club Finale at Barcelona
Patrick van Glabeke took his only win of the Blancpain GT Sports Club season in the final round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
The AF Corse driver started the Main Race from the second row of the grid and passed both Coach McKansy and Karim Ojjeh on the run up to the first corner.
He moved into the lead and was unchallenged for the rest of the race, taking the win in his Ferrari 488 GT3 ahead of McKansy, who won the Qualifying Race, and Luigi Lucchini.
Stephen Earle finished ahead of Klaus Dieter Frers to finish fourth overall and claim the Iron Cup championship.
Ojjeh, driving a Boutsen Ginion BMW M6 GT3, already won the overall championship at the previous round at the Hungaroring.
McKansy finished the season second in the standings but 50 points back, with 92 points compared to Ojjeh’s 142, while Mario Cordoni was classified third.
