McCumbee McAleer Racing’s Jenson Altzman took the No. 13 Ford Mustang GT4 he shares with Sam Paley to the top of the time sheets in the second practice of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Altzman’s 1:25.823 benchmark time early in the red flag-impacted session was enough to out-pace Trent Hindman’s No. 21 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport by 0.232 seconds.

KohR Motorsports’ Luca Mars was third-fastest in the 60-minute practice session to put a second Mustang GT4 inside the top-three.

Meanwhile, Baby Bull Racing’s Michael Cooper recorded the fourth fastest time, despite his teammate Moisey Uretsky later bringing out the second of two red flags, with Team TGM’s Paul Holton in finishing fifth.

A late improvement from Robert Wickens propelled the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR he shares with Harry Gottsacker to the top of the TCR class times, with his 1:28.212 lap time edging out Morgan Burkhard’s No. 99 Victor Gonzales Racing Team Hyundai by 0.103 seconds.

The No. 98 BHA Elentra of Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins also improved in the late stages, finishing third fastest in class and just over one-tenth of a second off of Wickens’ pace.

Sam Baker brought out the first red flag with just over 20 minutes remaining after going off at Turn 1 in his No. 52 Baker Racing Audi RS 3 LMS TCR.

Though running was resumed six minutes later, Uretsky brought out the second red after an incident at Turn 5 in his No. 44 Baby Bull Racing Cayman.

Qualifying is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EDT to set the grid for Friday’s 12:45 p.m. EDT afternoon race.
