Scott Andrews set the pace following Friday’s pair of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice sessions at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, in preparation for Saturday’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120.

The Lone Star Racing driver reeled off a best lap of 1:30.918 in the first 60-minute morning session to edge out the Practice 2 pace-setting No. 83 BGB Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Spencer Pumpelly by 0.074 seconds.

RS1’s Stevan McAleer was third quickest, followed by the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche of Elliott Skeer and the No. 14 Riley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO of Thiago Camino, which completed the top-five.

TCR was led by the No. 15 Rockwell Autosport Development Audi RS 3 LMS TCR of Denis Dupont, who outpaced the No. 98 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR of Mason Filippi by 0.205 seconds.

While the opening session ran without any stoppages, Practice 2 saw a session-ending red flag for an incident between the No. 11 Wilsports Mercedes of Gary Ferrera and Ted Giovanis’ No. 64 Team TGM Aston Martin.

Both drivers were evaluated and released from the trackside medical center.

Qualifying is set to get underway at 11 a.m. PT (2 p.m. ET) on Saturday, followed by the two-hour race that takes the green at 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m.).
