Block, Lewis Jr. Set for Return in KMW/TMR Alfa TCR

Roy Block and Tim Lewis Jr. will return as co-drivers of the No. 5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.

It comes as the Florida-based organizations have reached an agreement with Romeo Ferraris to enter the car as a full-season ‘Premium’ entrant.

Debuting the TCR car in 2019 as a two-car full-season operation, the first season saw several adjustments to the platform, which were required to compete in IMSA’s endurance format of two and four-hour races.

“Roy and Tim have a natural energy between them, they continue to build and grow off of one another,” said team co-principal Louis Milone.

“They push each other to be better, and they compete even when they are not competing… not as rivals, but as friends, and this is a recipe for success.”

The 2020 season will mark Block’s fifth in Pilot Challenge, having competed in both TCR and the now-defunct ST category.

Lewis Jr., meanwhile, returns for his second year in the IMSA Challenge series although has previous top-level Grand-Am experience.

The KMW/TMR Alfa is one of 11 cars on the TCR entry list for next weekend’s Roar Before the Rolex 24 pre-season test at Daytona, which is optional for Pilot Challenge competitors.
