Cooper On Top for Practice 2 at Road Atlanta

Michael Cooper had the fastest time in his No. 44 Ibiza Farm Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 for the second practice session of the Fox Factory 120 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. 

Cooper’s 1:25.547 second time paced the No. 23 Koch-Copeland Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 driven by Jaxon Bell by 0.027 seconds. Zach Veach finished third in the No. 2 CSM Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo.

The three were the only laps set in the 1:25 bracket. Veach’s co-driver Morgan Burkhard topped the first practice session on Wednesday. 

Caio Chaves completed the top three of the GS runners with a lap time of 1:26.072.

The No. 93 MMG Honda Civic FL5 TCR piloted by Karl Wittmer grabbed the fastest time in TCR with a 1:27.110 lap. His session ended early after he went off-course at Turn 7 and parked in a safe location.

Rocco Pasquarella in the No. 5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Honda Civic slotted into second spot 0.130 seconds behind Wittmer. Bryson Morris set the third fastest TCR time as the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads the class championship.

The only red flag came with 26 minutes remaining when the No. 24 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Aurora Strauss briefly stopped on-track at Turn 1. The stoppage results in the team losing their fastest qualifying lap.

Two drive-through penalties were assessed in the 60–minute session.

The No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing CUPRA Leon VZ TCR were penalized for pit lane speeding and an unattended tire. The No. 54 Panam Motorsport Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 had crew members over the wall before the car stopped on pit road. 

Qualifying for the Fox Factory 120 is set for Thursday at 6:25 p.m. EST. 

RESULTS: Practice 2
