Neither of Sunday’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Roar Before the Rolex 24 test sessions had much running, with rain interrupting both the one-hour morning and 45-minute afternoon sessions.

Zero Zero Motorsports’ No. 00 Ford Mustang Boss 302R led the first session at 1:57.963 in GS, with the No. 36 Strategic Wealth Racing with Goldcrest Motorsports Porsche Cayman on top in ST at 2:06.663.

Only three GS cars – the pair of Mantella Autosport Camaro Z/28.Rs (16 and 23 laps apiece) and No. 99 Automatic Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 (eight laps) – turned more than four laps in the morning. The same was more or less true in ST where Burton Racing was the only car to hit double digits.

Sunday’s afternoon session saw only six ST cars go out, Burton’s No. 23 BMW 128i and five Porsche Caymans. The Burton entry of Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra was fastest at 2:20.347.

With the test in the books, teams and drivers will now prep for the BMW Performance 200. The season-opening event occurs on Friday, January 23.
