Paul Holton laid down the gauntlet in IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge qualifying at Road America, storming to pole position by over a second in his Compass Racing McLaren 570S GT4.

Holton’s best lap of 2:18.586 was 1.030 seconds faster than his next closest competitor Tyler McQuarrie in the No. 39 Carbahn Motorsports Audi R8 LMS GT4.

Chad McCumbee will start third in the No. 8 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 with Jesse Lazare 0.002 seconds behind in fourth in his Motorsports In Action McLaren. Team TGM driver Owen Trinkler completed the top five.

Nate Stacy was 17th overall in the heavily repaired Roush Performance / KohR Motorsports Mustang.

Tom O’Gorman needed only two laps to set an unreachable mark in the TCR class as he stormed to the pole by 1.378 seconds over Tom Long.

It is the second straight pole for the eEuroparts.com Racing driver in the No. 12 Audi RS3 LMS TCR dating to the last round at Lime Rock Park.

Three different teams were represented in the top three with Long in a Compass Racing Audi and Lime Rock race winner Michael Johnson third for JDC-Miller Motorsports.

Nick Galante notched pole for BimmerWorld Racing in the ST class in the No. 81 BMW 328i. Galante’s best lap of 2:31.968 came on his final flying lap and was 0.497 seconds clear of second place Colin Mullan in the first of the MINI JCW Team entries.
