Former IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge champion Billy Johnson will make his full-season return to the series as part of KohR Motorsports’ two-car GS class effort.

The Dean Martin-led team has confirmed that it will field a pair of Ford Mustang GT4s, with Johnson teamed with Bob Michaelian, and Martin pairing up with Mustang Challenge graduate Christian Bach in the sister entry.

Luca Mars, who was part of the team’s 2024 lineup, is not part of the team’s program announcement for Pilot Challenge.

Johnson most recently made starts in Pilot Challenge in 2023, driving for both Hattori Motorsports and Archangel Motorsports, but had previously been a long-time competitor in the series, winning the 2016 title alongside Scott Maxwell in a Multimatic Motorsports-entered Ford Mustang GT350 R-C.

The former factory Ford driver later went on to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship as part of the factory Ford GT program before returning to Pilot Challenge and other sports car racing competitions.

KohR, which is now based in Florida, meanwhile, expands into a two-car full season effort with the latest-generation Mustang GT4 that debuted last year.
