Copeland Motorsports has confirmed Tyler Maxson and Tyler Gonzalez as drivers for its No. 27 Hyundai Veloster N TCR in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next year.

The pair of 16-year-olds made their IMSA debuts last month at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and will also compete in this weekend’s season-ending round at Sebring International Raceway in preparation for a full-season campaign in 2021.

Maxson and Gonzalez, who finished second in class in the Road Atlanta race, started out as teammates with Copeland in 2019 in Global MX-5 Cup and again this year in SRO TC America competition, which saw Maxson claim the TCR title with 11 victories on the season.

The Maryland-based team is aiming to run a minimum of two cars next year, with the possibility of a three-car operation.

Drivers for the second Hyundai TCR entry have yet to be announced.
