Miller Leads CTSC Wednesday Practice at Daytona

Marc Miller paced Wednesday’s practice ahead of this weekend’s BMW Performance 200, the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season opener.

Both one-hour practice sessions were run under damp conditions following morning rain at Daytona.

Miller, who shares the GS class No. 33 CJ Wilson Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport with Daniel Burkett, clocked in a 2:06.864 in the first of two sessions at the 3.56-mile Daytona International Speedway.

Burkett led the afternoon session at 2:07.973, with times slower the later in the day.

Rum Bum Racing’s No. 13 Porsche 997 of Hugh and Matt Plumb was second in both sessions, while the pair of Ford Shelby GT350R-Cs from Multimatic Motorsports and Compass360 Racing were third and fourth.

James Clay paced ST in the No. 84 Bimmerworld BMW 328i, at 2:15.263 in the first session. Compass360 Racing’s No. 74 Audi S3 and Murillo Racing’s No. 56 Porsche Cayman also dipped into the 2:15 bracket at 2:15.276 and 2:15.320, respectively.

Connor Bloum led the afternoon session in the No. 19 Rennsport One Porsche Cayman at 2:16.136. Robin Liddell was second for Rebel Rock Racing.

A handful of cars didn’t take times but there were no major issues or incidents reported.

Thursday’s third practice runs from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with qualifying set to commence at 2:10 p.m.
