Guilherme Salas led a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 1-2 in the second and final IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120.
The Brazilian, in the No. 54 PanAm Motorsport entry, reeled off a 1:29.406 lap time to edge out BSI Racing’s Lucas Weisenberg by 0.167 seconds.
The No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Daan Arrow was third quickest, ahead of Kiko Porto, who made it three Toyotas in the top-four in his RAFA Racing Team entry, and Circle H Racing’s Thomas Merrill completing the top-five in his Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo.
TCR was led by the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR of Mason Filippi, with a best lap of 1:30.114.
The 60-minute session saw several incidents, including a red flag for an accident for the No. 72 Pegram Racing Honda Civic FL5 TCR of Larry Pegram, who made contact with the Turn 4.
The session restarted with seven minutes left on the clock, with Pegram now set to lose the car’s fastest time in qualifying due to bringing out a red.
Qualifying is on tap for 5:40 p.m. PST (8:40 p.m. EST) this evening.
