Paul Holton showed the way for Compass Racing through the first two IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice sessions at Road Atlanta.

Last year’s polesitter at the Braselton, Georgia track turned in the best time of 1:28.920 in the No. 76 McLaren 570S GT4 during the second session and was the only driver to break the 1:29 barrier across the two practices on Thursday.

Eric Foss was second fastest in the No. 56 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4, also in the second session, while Damien Faulkner’s Practice 1-best 1:29.290 was good enough for third on the combined time charts for Winward Racing.

Jesse Lazare and Tyler Cooke completed the top-five overall.

O’Gorman Quickest in TCR

Audi swept the top five TCR class positions in Practice 2 and had the fastest combined time courtesy of Tom O’Gorman in the No. 12 eEuroparts.com Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR.

O’Gorman’s best lap of 1:31.190 was just 0.085 seconds clear of Britt Casey Jr. in the No. 77 Audi for Compass Racing, while Stephen Simpson’s Practice 1 time of 1:31.278 was good enough for third in class.

In the ST class, Mike LaMarra put the No. 73 MINI JCW Team entry at the top of the time sheets, with BimmerWorld Racing’s Devin Jones was second in the No. 81 BMW 328i.
