Stevenson Camaro Leads CTSC Practice at Watkins Glen

The No. 6 Stevenson Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R was fastest after the two practice sessions for the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International.

Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell, who have won the last two GS races this season in Sebring and Monterey, set the fastest time of 2:01.103 in Friday morning’s second session.

The No. 14 Doran Racing Nissan 370Z of B.J. Zacharias and Brad Jaeger was second at 2:01.358 with the No. 13 Rum Bum Racing Porsche 911 of Matt and Hugh Plumb third at 2:01.734. Rum Bum led Thursday’s first practice at 2:01.753.

The debuting Ford Shelby GT350R-Cs clocked in at 2:01.925 and 2:02.044, respectively, to sit seventh and eighth on the timesheets today. Jade Buford and Austin Cindric in the No. 158 Multimatic Motorsports entry was seventh, ahead of the Billy Johnson and Scott Maxwell in the No. 15 Multimatic car.

Spencer Pumpelly and Luis Rodriguez Jr. led the ST class field in the No. 17 Rennsport One Porsche Cayman, with a best time of 2:07.520 in Friday’s second session.

Alara Racing’s No. 34 Mazda MX-5 and the LRT Racing No. 4 Honda Civic Si were second and third.

There were two small incidents in second practice, involving the No. 38 Next Level European and No. 31 Bodymotion Racing Porsche Caymans in ST.

Qualifying runs from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. ET later this afternoon.
