Trinkler Quickest in Opening Practice at Road Atlanta

Owen Trinkler laid down the quickest time of the day for IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competitors at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in opening practice for the Fox Factory 120.

Trinkler, in the No. 64 Team TGM Aston Martin Vantage GT4, reeled off a best lap of 1:25.942 to edge out the No. 83 BGB Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Spencer Pumpelly by 0.233 seconds.

His flyer came in the closing minutes of the 60-minute session, which ran without a red flag.

The No. 27 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Scott Andrews was third quickest, followed by Daniel Morad’s No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG and the Robin Liddell-driven No. 71 Rebel Rock Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, which completed the top-five.

TCR was led by the No. 99 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R TCR of Tyler Gonzalez, who turned a 1:27.311 late in the running.
