Turner Motorsport confirmed Monday the signings of Dane Cameron and Tom Kimber-Smith, who will join the BMW squad in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, respectively.
Cameron, who impressed in both Daytona Prototype and Prototype Challenge competition last year, will team with Paul Dalla Lana in Turner’s new BMW Z4 GT3 car, which will compete in the GT Daytona class.
Three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Kimber-Smith, meanwhile, joins team regular Michael Marsal in one of two BMW M3s for Continental Challenge. The other GS-class contender will continue to be driven by Dalla Lana and Bill Auberlen.
Auberlen drove for Turner in both series in 2013 is unable to next year due to his continued factory commitments with BMW Team RLL in GTLM.
While yet to be formally announced by the team, it’s expected that BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus and Marc VDS Racing veteran Markus Palttala will complete the lineup in the team’s No. 94 BMW Z4. Both drivers are scheduled to test the car at this weekend’s Roar Before the Rolex 24.
