IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge champions Jeff Westphal and Tyler McQuarrie will return to defend their title next year in an unchanged program with CarBahn Motorsports.

The pair will once again drive an Audi R8 LMS GT4 entered by CarBahn Motorsports with Peregrine Racing, while the team will also run a second Audi for a partial season entry.

Westphal and McQuarrie won at Sebring in March and went on to score five additional podium finishes over the course of the season.

“It’s great to be back with CarBahn Motorsports and Peregrine Racing,” Westphal said. “We had a formula that worked very well last year.

“I can’t say the same dance move won’t work twice but that being said I think next year will present different challenges.

“We saw such an increase in competition with drivers and manufacturers last year so there is no doubt next year will be even tougher.”

“I really do think 2020 is a promising year for the No. 39 Audi but it will be a big challenge. We need to maintain the same consistency as last year to maintain that top level of competition.

“I have no doubt we’ll achieve that rhythm again running with Tyler and the same crew as last year who were flawless all season.”
