Kuno Wittmer led the way in opening IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice at Sebring International Raceway.

Wittmer laid down a best lap of 2:11.204 in the Daytona-winning AWA McLaren 570S GT4 to edge out the No. 7 Volt Racing by Archangel Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Trent Hindman by 0.020 seconds.

The No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 of Bill Auberlen was third quickest, followed by Jan Heylen’s Wright Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport in fourth.

Gregory Liefooghe completed the top-five in the No. 43 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW.

The 60-minute session was marred by two red flags and multiple accidents, including session-stopping incidents for the No. 84 Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic Type-R TCR and No. 51 Copeland Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N TCR.

Trenton Estep topped the TCR class in his No. 81 CB Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N TCR, which led a Hyundai lockout of the top four positions.

A second practice session is on tap for Thursday at 10:25 a.m. ET, followed by qualifying in the afternoon.
