IMSA will deliver the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to audiences all over the world through international distribution plans confirmed today.
It has partnered with Greenlight International to secure coverage in 220 countries beginning with this weekend’s 57th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
“As IMSA enters its 50th Anniversary season, we are proud to let our fans around the world know of the many options they have to enjoy WeatherTech Championship races,” said IMSA Vice President, Marketing, David Pettit.
“We regularly hear from race fans all over the globe, and it is clear we have a significant international audience. These broadcast options via television and streaming provide the opportunity for practically everyone on the planet to watch our races.”
This plan includes television coverage as well as live video streaming services.
Fans around the world also can listen to races via IMSA Radio on IMSA.com, RadioLeMans.com and the IMSA Mobile App.
Highlights of this dynamic WeatherTech Championship international coverage are as follows:
Canada to Receive Live and Tape-Delayed Coverage
Canadian IMSA fans have much to look forward to in 2019. Not only will the WeatherTech Championship Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park return on weekend of July 5-7, but live television coverage of the championship will be carried north of the border all season on the Discovery Velocity network, starting with flag-to-flag coverage of this weekend’s Rolex 24.
In addition, TSN will air tape-delayed, one-hour “cutdown” telecasts from WeatherTech Championship events.
FOX Sports Latin America Continues Longstanding Relationship
As it has since the inception of the WeatherTech Championship in 2014, FOX Sports Latin America again will bring IMSA action to audiences throughout the region. Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay are among several countries to receive FOX Sports Latin America coverage.
J SPORTS Brings WeatherTech Championship Action to Audiences in Japan
Beginning with live Rolex 24, leading Japanese sports television network J SPORTS will carry WeatherTech Championship action in 2019. J SPORTS has four different channels of sports programming.
Live Rolex 24 Action Televised Live in Spain via Mediapro
Buoyed by the presence of two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso as part of the driver lineup in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R and two-time WeatherTech Championship GTLM champion Antonio Garcia in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R, live coverage of the Rolex 24 will be provided for the second consecutive year by the Mediapro network.
American Forces Network Brings WeatherTech Championship to a Half Million Troops
The American Forces Network (AFN) will offer WeatherTech Championship action to 500,000 troops serving in the U.S. armed forces. AFN is available in 174 territories and on 140 ships around the world.
IMSA.tv Continues Live Streaming for Global Audiences
As it has done since 2014, IMSA.tv will continue to provide live video streaming to international audiences where live television coverage is not offered. IMSA.tv features the international television feed and commentary from the IMSA Radio team of John Hindhaugh, Jeremy Shaw, Shea Adam, Brian Till and Jamie Howe.
