Earl Bamber led the way in night practice for Motul Petit Le Mans, in a Cadillac sweep of the top five positions.
Bamber recorded a best lap of 1:09.880 in the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R to edge out the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports entry of Tristan Vautier by 0.123 seconds.
Renger van der Zande put the No. 01 CGR Cadillac third on the time sheets despite the right-rear wheel falling off his car that saw the Dutchman stop on track and bring out the session’s only red flag.
Track action resumed roughly ten minutes later, although van der Zande’s Cadillac was still seen limping on track with a broken left-front headlight.
LMP2 was led by the No. 8 Tower Motorsport Oreca 07 Gibson of Louis Deletraz, who was three-tenths quicker than Ryan Dalziel in the No. 18 Era Motorsport Oreca.
Andretti Autosport topped LMP3 with its No. 36 Ligier JS P320 Nissan, thanks to Gabby Chaves’ 1:16.028 benchmark.
The No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Aaron Telitz led the way in the production-based ranks overall.
Telitz’s 1:19.632 was 0.183 seconds ahead of Bryan Sellers’ No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, who was second in class.
A late improvement by James Calado saw the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 go quickest in GTD Pro with the second best time amongst the GTD entries.
Qualifying gets underway at 3:40 p.m. ET with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA Radio.
