Joao Barbosa put the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP on top in the final one-hour practice session before qualifying for the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase. Barbosa clocked in at 1:57.355 in the car he shares with Christian Fittipaldi.

Richard Westbrook was next in another Corvette DP, the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona entry, at 1:57.636. Andy Meyrick took the No. 0 DeltaWing DWC13 coupe up to third overall at 1:58.389.

Other class leaders included Bruno Junqueira in Prototype Challenge at 2:01.452 in the No. 09 RSR Racing Oreca FLM09, John Edwards in the No. 56 BMW Team RLL BMW Z4 GTE at 2:05.593 in GT Le Mans and Mario Farnbacher in the No. 23 Team Seattle/AJR Porsche 911 GT America, 2:10.231 in GT Daytona.

Two red flags interrupted the session. The first was for a minor spin and recovery by Mirco Schultis in the No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Oreca FLM09 off Turn 6; meanwhile the second came when the No. 35 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 LMS, driven by Andrew Palmer, stopped with apparent fire just at Turn 13.

Qualifying is up next for all four classes from the 4.048-mile Road America circuit.

RESULTS: Practice 3
