Tom Blomqvist once again topped the overall time sheets for the second WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice at Watkins Glen International with a blistering 1:29.581 second lap.

Blomqvist was just two-hundredths faster than Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05, but two tenths faster than Earl Bamber in the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R.

The No. 01 and No. 02 Cadillacs both looked quick throughout the session, but were bested by the Acuras near the end of running as the DPi cars put on new tires.

Blomqvist has led both practice sessions heading into qualifying this afternoon.

In LMP2, Gideo van der Garde was fastest behind the wheel of the No. 29 Racing Team Nederland Oreca 07 Gibson, setting a 1:32.771 lap time. Malthe Jakobsen topped the times in LMP3 with a 1:39.669 second lap.

The GTD Pro class was led by Ben Barnicoat, who was also the fastest GT3-based car in Practice 2 aboard his No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3.

He was followed by Ross Gunn and Mathieu Jaminet. Barnicoat set his quick lap with only five minutes remaining in the session.

In GTD, Stevan McAleer in the No. 32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo finished just three-hundredths ahead of Robby Foley’s Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3. Both drivers managed to finish ahead of Gunn and Jaminet.

Running was interrupted by three red flags for incidents across multiple classes.

The first red was brought out for Jarett Andretti aboard the No. 36 Andretti Autosports Ligier JS P3 Nissan after he spun and stopped partially on track in Turn 9. He was helped back on track by marshals and got going again. The Andretti car spun twice more in the session.

The second red came with 54 minutes completed when Kyffin Simpson in the No. 66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 tangled with the No. 99 Hardpoint Porsche 911 GT3 R of Katherine Legge on his out lap, putting both cars in the barriers at Turn 6.

A third red was briefly brought out for a spinning No. 58 MLT Motorsport LMP3 entry of Josh Sarchet, who made his way back to the pits after briefly stopping on track along the way.

Multiple LMP3 cars spun throughout the session; however none sustained significant damage.

The LMP2 field also saw a number of incidents during the session. The No. 29 Racing Team Nederland entry of Dylan Murry spun at Turn 1 after going wheel-to-wheel with Rui Pinto de Andrade in the No. 8 Tower Motorsport entry.

The No. 20 LMP2 High Class Racing machine of Dennis Andersen spun and gently hit the barriers early in the session but resumed running after no apparent damage to the car.

During the 1 hour 45-minute session, a total of 43 lap time were deleted as drivers explored track limits.

Qualifying gets underway at 1:20 p.m. ET.
