Colin Braun led the way again in a shortened second practice session for Sunday’s Mobil 1 Sportscar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Braun improved on his Practice 1 pace-setting time by 0.001 seconds, having taken his No. 54 CORE autosport Nissan DPi to a 1:05.875.

It was 0.024 seconds quicker than the No. 6 Team Penske Acura ARX-05 of Dane Cameron, with teammate Ricky Taylor third quickest in the No. 7 Acura DPi.

The session, originally scheduled for 60 minutes, was cut short with more than 20 minutes left on the clock due to track repairs in Turns 2 and 5, with the asphalt reportedly breaking up.

Jan Magnussen improved on Porsche’s pace-setting time from the morning to go quickest in GT Le Mans for Corvette Racing.

The Dane reeled off a best lap of 1:14.218 to lead a 1-2 for the Pratt & Miller-run squad.

Marcel Fassler, in his CTMP debut, posted the second quickest time of the session, which was good enough for fourth on the day’s combined time charts.

GT Daytona, meanwhile, was led by the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Bill Auberlen, in a time that was also set in the afternoon.

Auberlen’s 1:16.859 edged out Jeroen Bleekemolen’s pace-setting time from the morning by 0.026 seconds.

The No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson of Matt McMurry was quickest in LMP2.

Practice 3 is set for 8 a.m. EDT followed by qualifying beginning at 11:35 a.m.
