Dane Cameron led the second 90-minute practice session for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, which was primarily held under wet conditions.

Cameron posted a best lap of 1:28.704 in the dry, driving the Whelen Engineering-backed No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP. Shortly after he set it, the rain shifted from a light drizzle to a heavier amount later in the session.

Other class leaders included the No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Oreca FLM09 in Prototype Challenge, and the No. 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 in GT Daytona.

The Starworks car ended the session facing the wrong direction after a spin by Mirco Schultis exiting Turn 3. Schultis looped it on corner exit and ended driver’s right on the corner. As it occurred at the end of the session, there was no red flag.

There were two official red flags. One occurred at 2 p.m. for rain, which lasted 15 minutes.

The second came out shortly thereafter. when Dion von Moltke hydroplaned in the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Audi R8 LMS on entry into Turn 7, spinning and crashing into the concrete barrier. The car sustained heavy front end damage and was taken back to the track on a flatbed.

Von Moltke was out of the car OK and taken into the course vehicle, but the PMR team now has a bit of work to do before qualifying at 5:10 p.m. ET.

Qualifying is the next on-track session and will be streamed live on IMSA.com.
