Cameron Paces Dry Warmup at Road America

Dane Cameron paced morning warmup for this afternoon’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Road America.

Running under dry but overcast conditions, the Meyer Shank Racing driver reeled off a best lap of 1:51.715, edging out the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R of Renger van der Zande by 0.199 seconds.

Oliver Jarvis was third quickest in the No. 55 Mazda RT24-P.

Felipe Fraga was the quickest of the junior-level prototypes, with his LMP3 class No. 74 Riley Motorsports Ligier JS P320 Nissan outpacing the LMP2 pace-setting No. 8 Tower Motorsport by Starworks Oreca 07 Gibson of John Farano.

The No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Matt Campbell topped GT Le Mans while Bill Auberlen was quickest of the GT Daytona competitors in his No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3.

No incidents were reported in the 20-minute session, which saw 34 of the 35 entries take to the track.

The race gets underway at 1:40 p.m. CT with live coverage on Trackpass on NBC Sports Gold and on IMSA Radio.
