Campbell Leads Porsche Penske Front Row Lockout at Indy

Matt Campbell led a Porsche Penske Motorsport front row lockout for Sunday’s Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Campbell reeled off a best lap of 1:13.672 in the No. 7 Porsche 963 to edge out teammate Mathieu Jaminet by 0.152 seconds.

It marked the third IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pole of the season for Porsche and Penske, ahead of the penultimate round of the season.

Tom Blomqvist qualified third in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06, ahead of Sebastien Bourdais, who made it three GTP manufacturers in the top-four in the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R.

Ricky Taylor completed the top-five, ahead of the two Team RLL-run BMW M Hybrid V8s.

LMP2 pole honors went to Ben Keating, who took his No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson to a 1:17.950 lap time.

Keating improved on his provisional pole time following a two-minute extension of the clock after a red flag for an accident by the No. 74 Riley Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Gar Robinson in Turn 6.

The Texan edged out the No. 04 CrowdStrike by APR Oreca of George Kurtz by 0.440 seconds, while Bijoy Garg led a Jr III Racing sweep of the front row in LMP3, ahead of teammate Nolan Siegel.

Snow Beats GTD Pro Field to GTD Pole

Madison Snow outpaced the entire GTD Pro pole field to take top pole honors in the production-based ranks.

The Paul Miller Racing driver, who is on the brink of locking up the GTD class title, recorded a best lap of 1:23.075 in his No. 1 BMW M4 GT3.

It was 0.065 seconds quicker than GTD Pro class pole-sitter Klaus Bachler in the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Jules Gounon qualified second in class and third amongst the GT cars in the No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

GTD Pro points leader Jack Hawksworth was fourth in the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, with the No. 23 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Alex Riberas completing the top-five for The Heart of Racing.

The Battle on the Bricks gets underway Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT, with live coverage on network NBC.
