The No. 7 Porsche 963, which paced Friday’s opening session, reeled off a best lap of 1:15.493 to edge out the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Pipo Derani by 0.149 seconds.

Colin Braun ended up third quickest in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06, followed by the No. 6 Penske Porsche of Mathieu Jaminet, who sustained left-rear damage after going off-course in the second half of the session.

The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Acura completed the top-five overall and in the GTP class.

Chip Ganassi Racing returned to action following Sebastien Bourdais’ accident yesterday, with the Frenchman posting the eighth quickest time and completing 41 laps when combined with co-driver Renger van der Zande.

JDC-Miller Motorsports, meanwhile, completed its first significant mileage with its Porsche 963, having turned 49 laps with Mike Rockenfeller and Tijmen van der Helm although its best lap was behind the entire LMP2 field.

Ed Jones posted the quickest time in LMP2 in the No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson, outpacing Ryan Dalziel and Juan Pablo Montoya for Era Motorsport and Rick Ware Racing, respectively in the all-ORECA class.

The No. 78 Forte Racing by USRT Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Loris Spinelli was quickest of the GT cars, thanks to a 1:24.124 lap time by the Italian ace.

It was 0.161 seconds quicker than the No. 23 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Alex Riberas, who made a late session improvement to go quickest in GTD Pro.

Friday pace-setter Frankie Montecalvo was third quickest overall and second in GTD in the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, followed by the No. 92 Kellymoss with Riley Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The session saw two red flags, the first for a spin by Brendan Iribe in the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in Turn 6.

Debris from an off by the No. 6 Penske Porsche of Jaminet brought out the second red with 35 minutes to go.
