Parker Chase will join AIM Vasser Sullivan for the full IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season next year, replacing Richard Heistand in the team’s No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3.

The 18-year-old Texan, who made his debut with the organization as its third driver in last month’s Motul Petit Le Mans, will team up with Jack Hawksworth for the season.

“Parker is a young, up and coming driver, who showed good speed when he ran for us at the Petit Le Mans and in tests before and after that race,” said team co-owner Jimmy Vasser. “We look forward to helping him develop his career.”

As reported by Sportscar365 last month, Chase used the 10-hour enduro at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta as an “evaluation” for a likely full-time program with the team in 2020.

“I’m honored and excited to be joining AIM Vasser Sullivan for the 2020 IMSA GTD season,” said Chase. I want to thank “Sulli” (James “Sulli” Sullivan), Jimmy (Vasser) and Andrew (Bordin) for this opportunity.

“The team had a lot of success in their first year in IMSA racing the Lexus RC F GT3, and I’m looking forward to helping them continue and improve on that success.”

No word has been given on the team’s drivers for its second Lexus, although Heinstand is not expected to be part of the lineup.

The Bob Akin Award-winning driver recently took part in the Hankook 24H COTA with Park Place Motorsports and has been linked to a likely switch to the Texas-based Porsche squad in 2020.
