Parker Chase will complete AIM Vasser Sullivan’s lineup in next month’s Motul Petit Le Mans, having been confirmed in the team’s No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 alongside Jack Hawksworth and Richard Heistand.
The 18-year-old Texan started the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with Starworks Motorsport, prior to the team pulling out of several races in the summer months due to speed-related issues with its Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo.
Chase, who had been in negotiations with AVS for the 2019 season, is understood to have re-entered those talks for a potential full-season drive in 2020.
“Parker is a young, up and coming driver, and we look forward to helping him develop his career,” said team co-owner Jimmy Vasser.
Chase added: “The team has had great success in their first year in IMSA, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this leads. I really want to thank “Sulli”, Jimmy and Andrew [Bordin] for this opportunity.”
Aaron Telitz will rejoin Frankie Montecalvo and Townsend Bell in the team’s sister No. 14 Lexus for the ten-hour season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
