De Phillippi Quickest in Watkins Glen Warmup

Connor De Phillippi led a BMW M Team RLL 1-2 run in warmup for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

The No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8 ended up quickest in the 20-minute session, thanks to a 1:34.539 by De Phillippi, who edged out teammate Augusto Farfus by a mere 0.003 seconds.

Jack Aitken was third quickest in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R, followed by the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche 963 driven by Tijmen van der Helm in fourth and the No. 6 Penske Porsche of pole-sitter Nick Tandy, who completed the top-five.

Scott Huffaker and Matt Bell posted the quickest times in LMP2 and LMP3 for TDS Racing and AWA, respectively, while Jordan Pepper led the way in the GT ranks for Iron Lynx in the GTD Pro class No. 63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

The No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Madison Snow was the quickest GTD car, meanwhile.

Fifty one of the 57 cars turned laps in the session, which saw a spin by Mark Kvamme in the No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson that collected the No. 36 Andretti Autosport Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Gabby Chaves, with both cars sustaining minor damage.

Murry to Sub for Balogh in Jr III Ligier

Dylan Murry will make an unexpected start in the No. 30 Jr III Racing Ligier, filling in for Ari Balogh, following the car’s accident in qualifying that has resulted in a chassis change.

Balogh, who was evaluated and released from the infield care center on Saturday, has elected to sit out of the race for precautionary measures Murry turned five laps in warmup, having set the fourth quickest time in class.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen gets underway at 10:40 a.m. EDT with live coverage beginning on Peacock.
