AIM Vasser Sullivan has confirmed that Michael de Quesada will drive one of the team’s Lexus RC F GT3s in this month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The 20-year-old American will partner Jack Hawksworth, Parker Chase and reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in the team’s No. 14 entry.

De Quesada, who raced in GT World Challenge America last year, is taking part in this weekend’s Roar Before the 24 test to prepare for his second Daytona appearance.

The Florida native won the Rolex enduro as a teenager in 2017, sharing an Alegra Motorsports Porsche with Michael Christensen, Daniel Morad, Jesse Lazare and Carlos de Quesada.

“We’re pleased to announce that Michael de Quesada will join AIM Vasser Sullivan for the IMSA WeatherTech season-opening 2020 Rolex 24 at Daytona,” said team co-owner Jimmy Vasser.

“Michael is a young up and coming driver and we look forward to having him compete in the AVS Lexus RC F GT3 at Daytona.”

This month’s race will mark de Quesada’s first appearance in Lexus machinery.

His previous outings have predominantly come behind the wheel of Porsches, including his eight-race GT World Challenge America program with Alegra last year.

“I want to thank Jimmy Vasser, Sulli [James Sullivan] and Andrew Bordin for this opportunity,” said de Quesada.

“I have been taking some time off to concentrate on school and this situation allows me to focus on both things I care about.

“I am looking forward to driving the Lexus RC F GT3 and working with such outstanding drivers as Jack Hawksworth, Kyle Busch and a friend from my karting days Parker Chase.

“This will be my second Rolex 24, I had a GTD class win in 2017. Hopefully, we can carry on the magic with such a strong car and team.”

The second AVS Lexus for Daytona will be driven by the four-man crew of Frankie Montecalvo, Townsend Bell , Aaron Telitz and Shane van Gisbergen.
