The Ferrari 488 GT3 has regained the boost decrease it faced at Virginia International Raceway, ahead of this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

IMSA confirmed the GT Daytona class Ferrari has returned to the Balance of Performance configuration utilized through last month’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America, which sees an increase in boost ratio across all power levels as well as a 2-liter increase in fuel capacity.

It is the only change made to the GTD class for Sunday’s America’s Tire 250, although the Prototype category has seen multiple adjustments, most notably a 10 kg minimum weight increase for all LMP2 machinery.

Cooper MacNeil and Gunnar Jeannette, drivers of the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari, will be rejoined by the team’s sister No. 64 entry for this weekend, which makes its one-and-only sprint race appearance of the season in the hands of Townsend Bell and Frankie Montecalvo.

A third turbocharged Prancing Horse will also on the grid, entered by Squadra Corse Garage Italia for Ozz Negri and Francesco Piovanetti.
