Action Express Racing topped the time sheets in the second and final practice session prior to qualifying for Saturday’s Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase at Long Beach.

Christian Fittipaldi pedaled the No. 5 Corvette DP to a fast la of 1:16.160 in the 30-minute clean-and-green session.

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship points leader outpaced Friday morning’s pace-setting No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Ford of Scott Pruett  by 0.018 seconds.

The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP of Jordan Taylor was third quickest, followed by the No. 1 Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD ARX-03b of Ryan Dalziel, who closed to within seven-tenths of the pace-setting DP car.

BMW Team RLL’s Bill Auberlen paced the GTLM class, thanks to the California native’s 1:18.686 lap time in the No. 55 BMW Z4 GTE.

It was a hefty 0.215 seconds quicker than the No. 3 Corvette Racing C7.R of Jan Magnussen, who held point for the majority of the session.

Both Porsche North America entries returned to action, setting the fourth and fifth quickest times in class.

No significant incidents were reported.
