Antonio Garcia has taken Corvette Racing to the top of the time sheets in the second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice session of the day at Lime Rock Park.
Garcia reeled off a best time of 50.939 seconds in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R to go quickest of the session.
The Spaniard’s time, however, was marginally slower than Dirk Mueller’s pace-setting time from Friday’s opening practice.
The No. 66 Ford GT of Joey Hand was second quickest in Practice 2, followed Laurens Vanthoor’s No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR in third.
Richard Westbrook and Patrick Pilet completed the top-five.
Magnus Audi Quickest in GT Daytona
Andy Lally, meanwhile, set the pace in GT Daytona, eclipsing the quickest time set by Kyle Marcelli in the morning.
Lally recorded a best lap of 52.140 seconds in the No. 44 Magnus Racing Audi R8 LMS, outpacing the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 of Gunnar Jeannette by 0.148 seconds.
Dominik Baumann was third in the No. 14 3GT Racing Lexus RC F GT3.
Seventeen of the 18 cars turned laps, with the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 missing the session as it underwent an engine change.
It’s anticipated the car will be ready for the day’s third and final practice session, which is set to get underway at 4:55 p.m. EDT.
