Hanson Joins JDC-Miller for Endurance Cup Races

Phil Hanson will join JDC-Miller Motorsports’ lineup for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup races of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year, with the 24-year-old Englishman set for his top-class prototype debut at the wheel of the team’s Porsche 963.

Announced on Tuesday, Hanson will join Tijmen van der Helm and a yet-to-be-announced full season co-driver in the GTP class entry for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Motul Petit Le Mans.

Hanson, who became the first driver to win the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series titles and 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same year, will be making his debut in the full Endurance Cup season, although has previous starts with United Autosports in several of the races.

He currently competes in the WEC and European Le Mans Series with United.

“I’m very excited to be joining JDC-Miller Motorsports for the 2024 IMSA endurance races,” said Hanson.

“After my first taste of IMSA back in 2018, I am thrilled to be back in the IMSA paddock and above all, to be making my debut in the GTP class with JDC’s 963 Porsche. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.”

Team principal John Church added: “We have been following Phil’s career for quite some time and his accomplishments are very impressive.

“He is a proven winner at the top levels of sports car racing and will be a great addition to the team.
