Rum Bum Racing will go with a four-driver lineup for this weekend’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, announcing Monday the addition of Hugh Plumb to the No. 13 Porsche 911 GT America with brother Matt plus Jan Heylen and Madison Snow.

The Joe Varde-led team had requested a review of Matt Plumb’s driver rating but the reigning Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge GS champion remained as a Gold-rated driver in IMSA’s updated list released late last week.

As a result, Rum Bum has drafted in Matt’s older brother, Bronze-rated Hugh Plumb, as a fourth driver, to meet IMSA’s Pro-Am mandate in the GTD class. Heylen and Snow are Gold and Silver-rated drivers, respectively.

“We got word about my driver rating situation very late in the game, but we were lucky that someone able, and close to the team could be called up,” Matt Plumb said.

“I am glad to have Hugh be a part of this effort because he’s got a ton of experience in these cars and in long races and we know he can get the job done.”

The elder Plumb made his debut with the Florida-based squad in the Daytona CTSC race, teaming with Kaz Grala for a fourth place finish in a BMW M3.

“After competing against this team for so many years, it was great to get the chance to drive for Rum Bum Racing at Daytona and now I’m really grateful for this opportunity at Sebring,” said Hugh Plumb.

“I was so impressed with the depth of talent on this team and I think that’s going to be key this weekend. Even though this is Rum Bum Racing’s first-ever Sebring 12 Hour, I can’t think of any other group that I’d want behind me.”

Rum Bum will operate the No. 13 GTD entry in association with Wright Motorsports, which took the car to a podium result in the Rolex 24 with Heylen and Snow at the wheel.
