Reigning IMSA Prototype Challenge champion Dakota Dickerson will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut next month after signing with Jr III Racing for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The 25-year-old from California has been named alongside Ari Balogh and Garett Grist in the No. 30 Airbnb-backed Ligier JS P320 Nissan.

Dickerson won the Prototype Challenge title last year with his MLT Motorsports co-driver Josh Sarchet and also drove an Acura NSX GT3 Evo in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, having been an inaugural member of the HPD Drivers Academy.

“I am excited to be joining Jr III Racing for the Sebring 12 Hours,” said Dickerson.

“Being familiar with the Ligier as well as competing against the team, it was an easy yes because I know the quality of the car and the pace are top notch.

“Our test together went very well and working with Ari, Garett and the crew came naturally. My goal is to perform and hopefully help bring the No. 30 Airbnb Ligier to victory circle.”

Sebring marks the first WeatherTech Championship appearance of Jr III Racing, which skipped the Rolex 24 at Daytona since that race didn’t pay out full-season LMP3 points.

The team made its IMSA endurance debut at last season’s Motul Petit Le Mans finale where Balogh, Grist and Spencer Pigot finished on the class podium.
