Kamui Kobayashi put the No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R on top in the final practice for this weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing star reeled off a best lap of 1:36.380 midway through the 60-minute session to edge out the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963 of Mathieu Jaminet by 0.484 seconds.

The No. 25 Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 returned to action to set the third quickest time with Robin Frijns after a full high-voltage system replacement after the car stopped on track in qualifying.

Laurens Vanthoor and Will Stevens completed the top-five for Porsche Penske and WTR, respectively.

Vanthoor’s time was set after co-driver Nick Tandy found the wall on the banking while under a red flag, for the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 of Felix Rosenqvist that stopped on track.

The No. 7 Porsche appeared to only sustain nose damage.

The session’s only red flag also saw the No. 4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Tommy Milner stop on track.

The MSR Acura initially lost its quickest time in qualifying due to bringing out a red in practice, although the penalty was later rescinded by IMSA.

LMP2 was led by the No. 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 Gibson of Toby Sowerey, while Shane van Gisbergen ended up quickest in GTD Pro in the No. 91 Trackhouse by TF Sport Corvette.

The No. 19 Van der Steur Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo was credited with the quickest time in GTD.

The 63rd Rolex 24 at Daytona gets underway Saturday at 1:40 p.m. ET with live coverage on NBC and Peacock.
