The Lamborghini SC63 is set for its U.S. on-track debut in next week’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, which is expected to see more than 40 cars in action across the four-day outing that will include Balance of Performance testing.

Lamborghini Iron Lynx will give the Ligier-chassied LMDh car its maiden run on U.S. soil following multiple tests in Europe in the build up to the Italian manufacturer’s dual FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup program next year.

While the Lamborghini SC63 will not take part in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, the car is required to be present at next week’s test for BoP purposes.

It is one of nine GTP class entries that are due to take part, with all 2024 registered teams except for JDC-Miller Motorsports and Proton Competition expected to be present.

LMP2 will see six cars, including Sean Creech Motorsport’s Ligier JS P217 Gibson alongside Oreca 07 Gibsons from Riley, Tower Motorsports, TDS Racing, CrowdStrike Racing by APR and Inter Europol by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports.

The GTD Pro class will feature new machinery from Ford and Chevrolet, as well as the updated Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which along with one nominated car from each GT3 manufacturer, will undergo targeted performance testing on Friday and Saturday.

Ford Multimatic Motorsports and Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports will each have two of its new-for-2024 cars present, along with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 from Iron Lynx, Paul Miller Racing’s BMW M4 GT3, a Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3, Heart of Racing’s Aston and defending class champions Vasser Sullivan with its Lexus RC F GT3.

Eighteen GTD cars, meanwhile, are expected to turn laps, with entries from Kellymoss with Riley (Porsche), Wright Motorsports (Porsche), Forte Racing (Lamborghini), Iron Lynx (Lamborghini), Triarsi Competizione (Ferrari), Gradient Racing (Acura), Winward Racing (Mercedes-AMG), Korthoff/Preston Motorsports (Mercedes-AMG), Inception Racing (McLaren), Turner Motorsport (BMW), Magnus Racing (Aston Martin), Conquest Racing (Ferrari), Cetilar Racing (Ferrari), AF Corse (Ferrari) and Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (Lamborghini).

Nominated drivers or an official entry list for the multi-day test have not yet been released by the sanctioning body.

On-track activity begins on Wednesday with a pair of GTP/LMP2 only sessions followed by three sessions for all four classes on Thursday and GTD Pro and GTD only on Friday and Saturday, where the targeted performance testing will take place.
